We start in the great USA!

Class Description:  Explore history from the very beginning with Adam and Eve through the first Christian Emperor. Learn through picture books, mapwork, and hands-on activities like recreating an edible Nile River, fight like Gladiators, compete in the Olympics and more! 5th graders will need the required text.

Homework Required: 3rd and 4th graders will complete book reports related to a topic from class *students choice. (1 per term) 5th graders will read Story of the World weekly and answer questions.

Lives That Helped Shape Our Nation

Class Description:  Lives That Helped Shape Our Nation is a gentle approach to American history. Each week, students experience the telling of one fearless figure who contributed to our nation in ways that brought innovation, courage, and lasting change. Through books, short videos, and guided journal activities with drawing and writing, students reflect on each figure’s story while building a visual timeline of history. To make learning tangible and memorable, each student receives a special memento for every historical figure explored—from Harriet Tubman and Paul Revere to Neil Armstrong and Steve Jobs. Writing is carefully scaffolded and supported to help every student express their thoughts clearly while connecting with each figure’s story.

Liberty Girls

Class Description: Let’s step back in time into American Girl historical fiction as we explore life in 1815 with Josefina and 1845 with Kirsten! Through these engaging stories, students will reflect, narrate, and learn about history in a fun, gentle, and age-appropriate way. 

Each class includes discussion along with a girly, fun, and hands-on craft or activity connected to the story and time period. Students will read approximately two chapters at home each week and respond to optional writing prompts for extension. Books may be read aloud by parents, and assistance is welcome for younger writers.  New American Girl books will be explored each year, so returning girls will enjoy fresh stories, activities, and time periods.

World History: The Ancients

Grade Range: 6th - 8th

Class Description: This middle school World History class offers a gentle and supportive introduction to a higher-level history course. Designed to help students build confidence, the class balances engaging lecture, discussion, and hands-on activities in a welcoming environment. Students will study World History from Creation to the Roman Empire through a Biblical worldview. Required reading, developing guided note-taking skills, and comprehension questions help students learn essential academic skills at an age-appropriate pace. Weekly online quizzes and an online test every four weeks are completed at home to reinforce learning at a manageable pace.

Grades are given for assignments, quizzes, and tests. No prior history or notetaking experience is required.  This course is part of a three-year series, but students may join at any time.

World Geography

Grade Range: 3-7

Class Description: Come explore the world God created including the traditions and ways of life of His people. In class students will focus on one country or region a week, examining the physical world,but learning about its people through music, photos, recipes, maps, art, hands-on activities, and so much more! They will create a layered map to learn how God created the physical earth to provide for his people. At home, students will complete basic mapwork, coloring and labeling our focus country and its boarding countries.

World Geography and Literature (3 High School Credits)

Grade Range: Advanced 8th(with approval)- 12th

Class Description:  Students completing this course will earn 3 credits: Social Science, English, and an Elective. This course provides students with an in-depth understanding of the world God created, exploring both physical and human geography. Students will learn how the physical world has shaped human history and culture, and how people have influenced the world in the past and in modern times.Through engaging narrative lessons, mapwork, and literature, students will gain a biblical perspective on the world. Students will complete daily narrative lessons, weekly mapwork, read literature, write papers, complete hands-on projects and partake in quizzes and exams. During class, students will participate in discussions, turn in projects and essays, take quizzes, and complete other learning to enhance or understand weekly assignments. Students need to access Google Classroom for assignments, turning in work and grade reports. 8th graders need administration or teacher approval before registering. 

Monthly Tuition: $70

Supply Fee: $40 each term

Homework Required: About 2 hours daily (Literature heavy!)

Required Text: Notgrass World Geography Package (World Geography Part 1, Part 2 and Gazetteer) plus assigned novels (1 will be read every 2 to 3 weeks)
