About Generations Homeschool Community
OUR MISSION
The mission of Generations Homeschool Community is to support homeschool families and students with weekly enrichment classes taught from a Biblical worldview. Instructors are encouraged to use teachable moments to point students toward Jesus.
OUR VISION
To equip students to impact future generations with their work, values, and faith. We desire to Love God, Love People, and Love Learning.
OUR HISTORY
Generations Homeschool Community opened in August of 2024.
Generations was formerly a Summit Academy Campus, but now operates independently and is locally owned by the Mauldin family.
LEADERSHIP
Shelly Mauldin, Administrator:
Shelly has a bachelors & master's degree in early childhood education from Piedmont College. She taught at Emmanuel Epsicopal Dayschool for two years and Oconee County School District for 12 years before beginning her homeschool journey 11 years ago. Shelly and Michael have been married for 20 years and have 3 children, ages 16, 13, and 10. She brings her knowledge of curriculum, planning, and leadership to our community. Shelly loves encouraging and supporting families who have chosen to homeschool. The Mauldins are active members of Beech Haven Church in Athens, GA.
Lindsey Cavin, Assistant Administrator:
Lindsey's professional career started with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where she met her husband, Aaron Cavin. She holds a masters degree in social work from UGA. Before staying home with their children, Lindsey worked as a school counselor at Clarke Middle School. She and Aaron were foster parents for many years and have 6 children. Lindsey shares a
passion for homeschooling and discipling her children. She has a heart for helping kids and families navigate challenges and hardships. She's an excellent listener and gives great advice. The Cavins are active members of Calvary Bible Church in Athens,GA.
Liz Frye, Part Time Assistant Administrator:
Liz Frye will assisting part time with admnistrative tasks this year. Liz is
an elementary education major who taught in Clarke County for 7 years
prior to homeschooling her 4 children. Liz is married to Michael Frye, who
is a published author and minister. She has a heart for ministry and natural leadership skills. When she is not in the classroom teaching, you'll see her around campus checking on classrooms and assisting students & parents.
