Class Description: Refine your artistic skills in this upper-grades art class. Students will explore drawing and painting techniques, imaginative sculpture projects, and more. The course emphasizes creativity, strong technique, and observation to build artistic confidence.
We will include both skill-based and process art projects, learning to value experimentation as well as the finished piece. Students will also learn that presentation matters — from craftsmanship to how artwork is displayed. Weekly sketchbook or journaling practice will help strengthen observation and idea development.

Class Description: This hands-on class is open to students in grades 6–12 and welcomes beginners with no prior experience. Students will learn and create a variety of traditional and modern handicrafts while developing practical skills, creativity, and confidence in a supportive, Christ-centered environment.Throughout the year, students will work with different materials and techniques such as fiber arts, paper crafts, basic sewing, and other age-appropriate handwork. Emphasis is placed on careful workmanship, perseverance, and appreciation for creativity as a gift from God (Colossians 3:23). By the end of the course, students will complete multiple finished projects, gain familiarity with a range of tools and materials, and enjoy meaningful fellowship with friends.

Students will explore drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media while experimenting with a variety of techniques and materials. We’ll focus on composition, creative risk-taking, and thoughtful presentation as students fill their sketchbooks full of work they love to look back at. My hope is that they will build a habit of visual sketchbook journalling they can continue at home.
